For our volunteers there are opportunities for everyone, from helping in the shop, repairing things, running workshops, helping with social media, keeping the website up to date… there really is something for everyone. And it’s great to be part of a team that is trying to ‘live the future’! Don’t hold back, if you give it a go and then think it’s not for you, there’s no hard feelings!
Paid role: Partnerships Coordinator - Waste (stock) Management
We are looking for a Partnerships Coordinator to develop our relationships with the local waste, business and education sectors to cement our role as a key contributor to waste reduction locally. Our mission is to bring together, inspire and empower people to drive practical and positive action in response to the climate and ecological crisis.
With a focus on the throughput of materials saved from being thrown away you will support WEC’s focus on the circular economy.
We currently run a retail shop in High Wycombe called Refresh where we sell donated surplus and unwanted arts and crafts materials, including fabrics, textiles, wools, haberdashery, papers, paints, foils, and many more items to support all types of crafting. You will be responsible for accelerating throughput of materials both from a retail perspective and other supporting schemes such as our Schools Scheme.This is a new part-time role (18-21 hours), fixed term for three years and we are looking for someone educated to degree level in environmental management, sustainability or similar or with significant relevant experience. Salary, up to £30k pro rata.
The Refresh shop is run by Wycombe Environment Centre, a registered charity established in 2001 running a number of projects.

Paid role: Events and Outreach Coordinator
We are looking for an Events Coordinator to develop and deliver our programme of Arts and Crafts workshops and events. You will be based from our Refresh shop in High Wycombe, where we sell donated surplus and unwanted arts and crafts materials, including fabrics, textiles, wools, haberdashery, papers, paints, foils, and many more items to support all types of crafting.
You will be instrumental in building a programme of events around the materials donated to us. Our aim is to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Create, whilst building a community of crafters where people share, repair, make & create, teach & learn, providing easy alternatives to buying new, reducing waste and carbon, through the circular economy.
This is a new part-time role (18-21 hours), fixed term for three years and we are looking for someone with 1-3 years experience in event planning or similar. Salary, up to £30k pro rata.

Volunteer Opportunity - Shop Volunteers
Without amazing people like you we wouldn’t have a shop! We need our wonderful volunteers to be part of our rota to help keep our shop open 6 days a week.
We are looking for people of all ages and experience who have an interest in protecting our planet, and like the idea of recycling and reusing. If you enjoy helping customers and being part of a fun team then you must be our next Super Volunteer!

Repair Volunteers
How can we have a repair cafe without a fabulous community of people who know how to repair? We are always on the look out for more people to join the team, so that we can run more sessions, across Wycombe.
We have both electrical and mechanical repairers, as well as textile repairers, and some specialists.
We are looking for people of all ages who have a passion for mending things! If that’s your thing, there is a community waiting to welcome you.

Volunteer Opportunity - Finance Manager
We are looking for a volunteer Finance Manager to support our team of Trustees and staff. The Finance Manager will mainly work with the Treasurer, particularly providing information as necessary to ensure the financial reporting is accurate.
We anticipate this support will take around 2 days a quarter (on average), spread across the whole month, working from home. The Finance Manager will report to Penelope Tollitt, one of our Trustees.
At the moment looking for a treasurer to join the board of trustees. It may be that the treasurer may feel able to cover the finance manager role.
