Overview: Make a visible difference by tidying up your local area and help prevent litter from entering our beautiful river or harming wildlife.

Step In Wombats Litter Team is a group of clients, staff, and volunteers led by Hazel Howe, Director at Step In Café on Desborough Road. The café provides training and support to enable adults with learning disabilities to reach their full potential.

The litter team is working hard to improve and enhance Desborough by clearing litter, weeding, cutting back overgrowth, and generally improving the area to create a real Pride of Place. They are keen to collaborate with local residents and businesses to make a lasting positive impact.

Meet at Step In Café every Wednesday at 10:30am to take part in a litter pick of the area, followed by a well‑earned coffee and cake when we finish. If travelling by car, please park in Desborough Square or Richardson Street car parks.

All equipment is provided, including gloves, litter pickers, bags, and hoops. You’re welcome to stay and help for as long or as little time as you like.
