Overview: Sands Litter Wombles is a group of local volunteers working together to see the Sands area of High Wycombe looking clean and tidy for our community to enjoy.
We run community litter picks which anybody is welcome to join. Volunteers meet outside the entrance to Millbrook School car park at 10am.
Sands Litter Wombles has been established by the "Our Sands" residents association in conjunction with St Mary & St George (SMG) Church.
What you need to be a Womble:
* Warm clothes.
* A sturdy pair of comfortable, covered shoes.
* A thick pair of gloves to protect your hands.
Things we can provide (but you are welcome to bring your own if you have them):
* Litter-pickers
* Bin bags
* Hi-vis jackets
* Hoops (for holding open the bin bags)
* Trolleys (an alternative to a hoop, so you can pull-alonf your bag rather than carry it)
We have a range of sizes of equipment for adults and children.
When Wombling, please look after yourself by:
* Be aware of hazardous materials and waste, broken glass, needles. These can be reported to the council for collecting.
* Don't overfill bags and please ensure they are not too heavy.
* Use common sense at all times and don't take any risks around water or roads.
Admin accept no responsibility or liability for any accidents or injuries sustained during any group or solo litter picks
