First on-line sale

It took about a month from us putting our goods up on line, but we made our first on-line sale in the middle of August.

For us this was such a big moment, it was worth taking a photo - and here is Caterina carefully packing it ready for posting. It was a beautiful piece of Laura Ashley. Do you remember we used to have a Laura Ashely here in High Wycombe? We can’t separate the wonders of the stock of our little shop with nostalgia for the past - and enthusiasm for a future where we re-use what we already have rather than assuming we must always make new stuff, with all the waste that that entails, a future where we don’t need to talk about the ‘circular economy’ because it will just be the normal - and we may look back baffled at how wasteful we were for so long!

We are growing what we offer online. We have beautifully curated slow stitching kits, lots of vintage brand new patterns, some ‘Jelly Rolls’ (if you don’t know what they are, don’t worry, most of us don’t when we first come across it, and its nothing to do with food!) and some other treasures, such as a beautiful box of pastels…
